Who Engineering Pods is built for.

This service is designed for Series A and above companies that need to scale engineering capacity without a three-month recruitment cycle. Teams that have product-market fit, a working engineering culture, and a clear backlog, but not enough engineers to move at the speed the business needs. The pod integrates directly into existing workflows, picks up sprint cadence, and starts contributing from week three.
Engineering Pods suits companies committing to at least three months of engagement. It is structured for sustained product development, not for one-off projects or short-term bursts of work.

Where it is not the right fit.

If the project is a one-off build under three months, this is not the right engagement . MVP Sprint or Ecommerce Sprint will serve that need better. Engineering Pods is also not the right structure for companies that need a single freelancer for a specific task. The pod model is built for teams, not individuals, and the value comes from sustained, embedded collaboration over time.

How It Works

The sprint runs over ten weeks, structured into five phases. Scope is agreed and documented before engineering begins

Week 0.
ICP & Skills Matching

We assess your team structure, tech stack, and project requirements to identify engineers who are the best fit. Matching is based on skills, experience, and working style—not just availability.

Week 1-2.
Onboarding & Tooling Setup

Engineers are onboarded into your codebase, tools, documentation, and workflows. The goal is to ensure they are fully productive and sprint-ready by week three.

Weeks 3-4
Sprint Cadence Begins

The engineering pod integrates directly into your existing team and delivery process. Standups, planning, reviews, and development happen within your workflow, not alongside it.

Weeks 5
Monthly Performance Reviews

Regular reviews track delivery, code quality, communication, and overall performance. This ensures continuous alignment and allows challenges to be addressed before they impact outcomes.

to know about

We manage continuity on our side. If an engineer needs to be replaced, we handle the handover and onboarding of a replacement with minimal disruption to the client’s team. The engagement commitment holds regardless of internal movement on our end.

Yes. We expect clients to want to meet the engineers before committing. We facilitate introductory calls and, in some cases, a short technical evaluation, the same process a team would run for any hire.

The team works UK-overlapping hours as standard 07:30 to 15:30 GMT. For US clients, we can adjust working hours within limits to create meaningful overlap, and async communication via Slack, Notion, or whichever tools the client uses fills the gaps.

Pod size can be adjusted with 30 days’ notice in either direction. We do not lock clients into a fixed headcount for the full duration if the product’s needs change.

The tech lead is responsible for code review and quality standards within the pod. We follow the client’s existing standards where they exist, and can help establish them where they do not. Monthly reviews include a quality assessment alongside delivery output.

We have depth across a range of modern stacks — React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, AWS, GCP, and PostgreSQL among others. If there is a specific technology requirement, we confirm capability and seniority level before the engagement starts.
