Frequently Asked Questions about SynthWeb
About SynthWeb
What does SynthWeb do?
SynthWeb is a product engineering company in Guwahati, India. We design, build, secure and run software products for startups and businesses in the UK, US and India. That covers MVPs, ecommerce platforms, SaaS products and dedicated engineering teams.
Where is SynthWeb based?
We are based in Chandmari, Guwahati, Assam, India. Our clients are mostly in the UK, US and India.
Who works on my project?
A tech lead and a team of engineers, QA and designers, depending on the offer. You meet the people doing the work from the first call. Our team page lists everyone.
How many projects has SynthWeb delivered?
We have delivered 130+ projects across MVPs, ecommerce, SaaS, internal tools and websites.
Can I speak to past clients?
Yes. We share two or three client references after the discovery call, and our portfolio and case studies are online.
How we work
Will you work in my time zone?
Yes. Every engineer assigned to your project works a shift matched to your location: UK business hours for UK clients, US business hours for US clients and IST for clients in India.
How do we communicate during a project?
Daily async stand-ups in Slack, pull request reviews and Linear updates during the week, a live demo every Friday and a monthly steering review. We can use your tools if you prefer.
How do I see progress?
You see working software every week at the Friday demo, and code goes into your repository daily. Nothing is hidden until the end.
What happens if an engineer leaves my project?
Our contracts require two weeks’ notice, and a replacement is onboarded in parallel. You do not pay for the transition.
How senior is the team?
Engineering Pods mix SDE-1 and SDE-2 engineers under one tech lead. Engineers with 5+ years of experience handle critical architecture and security decisions.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes, on request, before you share anything about your product.
Not sure where to start?
Talk to an engineer for 30 minutes. Free, no obligation.
We will help you pick the right offer and send a written proposal within 24 hours.

Pricing and contracts
How much does it cost to build an MVP or app?
It depends on scope, features and timeline. MVP and Ecommerce Sprints are fixed price, so you know the cost before we start. Send us your idea and we will reply with a written estimate within 24 hours.
What is the minimum engagement?
An MVP Sprint runs 10 weeks, an Ecommerce Sprint 6 weeks, and an Engineering Pod starts at 3 months.
How does billing work?
We invoice monthly in USD, GBP or EUR. Fixed-scope work takes a 50% deposit upfront. Ongoing work is billed NET-15 or NET-30. You can pay by wire or Wise.
Who owns the IP and source code?
You do. All IP and source code is assigned to you under Section 8 of our MSA, and we push code to your repositories daily.
Are there hidden costs?
No. Fixed-scope work has a fixed price. Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted and approved by you before we start.
Security & Compliance
Site hacked, infected or broken? We fix it.
We clean up malware, close the hole it came through and harden your app or website. Message us now and an engineer will reply.
Security and compliance
How does SynthWeb handle security?
We build secure by default: access control, audit-ready logging and secure coding practices are part of the design, not added at the end. We have worked on security-sensitive, regulated platforms.
Can you fix a hacked or malware-infected website or app?
Yes. We investigate, clean up the infection, fix the vulnerability that allowed it and harden the app so it does not happen again.
Can you fix a broken app or website built by someone else?
Yes. We review the code, find what is broken and fix it, or advise whether a rebuild makes more sense.
Are you certified (SOC 2, ISO 27001)?
We are in the process of getting certified.
Technology
Do you build mobile apps?
Yes. We build mobile apps for iOS and Android, from a first MVP to a full product, and connect them to a secure backend. Many clients start with a web product and add a mobile app once it is working. Tell us what you have in mind and we will recommend the right approach for your budget and timeline.
Can you add AI features to my product?
Yes. We add AI to new and existing products, such as chatbots and assistants, smart search, document processing and workflow automation. We build it with proper access control and data handling so it is safe to run in production. Book a free consultation and we will tell you where AI will help and where it will not.
What technology does SynthWeb use?
NestJS and Node.js for APIs, React, Next.js and TypeScript for frontends, PostgreSQL with Prisma for data, and AWS with Docker and GitHub Actions for infrastructure and delivery.
After launch
Do you support the product after launch?
Yes. Through Managed Services we handle maintenance, monitoring, fixes and improvements, or you can keep a pod on the product.
Can my own team take over the code later?
Yes. You own the code, it lives in your repositories and we document it, so your team or another vendor can continue without us.
